On the occasion of Taiprora's 30th anniversary, we have decided to inaugurate the column "30 years of..." in which we will talk about how the world of software and automation has changed over the last 30 years.
Let's start with an interview with our President, Francesco Alfieri, with a few questions about our history.
President, how was Taiprora born?
After graduating in Engineering in Bologna (Italy), I started my career at Texas Instruments, where my passion for automation-related software was born. Together with my brother Ing. Giovanni and Ing. Tremolizzo, we decided to create a company that would develop innovative solutions for production and intralogistics.
A somewhat particular name, where does Tai Prora come from?
The name comes from the merger of the acronym Tai (Tremolizzo Alfieri Ingegneria) and Prora as the front part of the ship. Those were the years of the Moor of Venice in the America's Cup, a wonderful boat that represented Italy through the exaltation of the beauty, dynamism and high technology of Made in Italy. And so, inspired by this, we chose this seemingly strange name.
...and today? What has Taiprora become?
Taiprora today is a company that, together with the A.Celli group, wants to continue to grow in Italy and abroad by focusing on innovation. We are increasingly focused on latest generation software and technologies for handling and intralogistics, such as our Smart Logistix, WMS and our LGV and AMR fleets.
The goal is to accompany our clients in the transition to the Digital Factory.
This will be our challenge for the next few years.
